Blanka Morikawa (b. 1988) is an abstract painter based in Prague, Czech Republic, whose work is centered around exploring the essence of life—what remains when fears, trauma, and barriers are let go. Her art practice is deeply rooted in themes of intuition and freedom, mirroring her personal philosophy of surrendering control and releasing all expectations or judgment.
Morikawa’s expressive style uses acrylic and charcoal on raw canvas, with natural palettes and minimal compositions. Her gestural marks and soft, layered washes create airy works that convey depth and simplicity.
She is dedicated to learning all aspects of art—from technical skills and creative inspiration to business acumen and professional presentation. Morikawa has attended in-person art classes at Atelier45 in Prague and participates in various online courses and workshops on an ongoing basis. Most recently, she enrolled in a 3-month 1:1 Mentorship program with Victoria J. Fry, a New York-based artist, gallery owner, and founder of Visionary Art Collective.
Her art has gained a growing audience, with paintings in private collections in the Czech Republic and internationally. Recently, Morikawa held a solo exhibition at Ye’s Cafe in Prague, showcasing her unique approach and commitment to her evolving practice.
