Let's talk about consistency. 👐

I do feel like I change style with every series, and I used to worry that my works are too incoherent and all over the place.

If you feel the same or if you're reluctant to try something new for fear that you will let other people down and lose your following, let me share a couple of insights I recently arrived at.

1. The more I create, the more similarities I can see throughout all of my work.

I recognise the same type of marks, though more free and expressive as I progress. My colour palettes have developed massively, especially since I started mixing my own colours, but there are definitely hints of similar colour combinations in my previous works. Finally, minimal compositions have consistently been a hallmark of my work.

2. I evolve as a person, so why should my art stay the same?

I've been working on myself a lot in the past years - healing old traumas, letting go of learned behavioural patterns that don't serve me, peeling off layers and layers of muck to get to who I was before life happened. I am not who I was 2 years ago. So, in my opinion, it's only natural that my art reflects that growth.

This painting pulls me in so much. It fills me with a bittersweet feeling of remembering the carefree years of my childhood, filled with endless sunny days and the golden fields near my grandparents's house, and the knowing that I can never go back. 😔

Memories are funny things. Such happiness and yet so much pain coming from one memory...
